EVA GABOR   $15.00
Eva was the "good Gabor" of the fabled trio of Gabor sisters and is probably best remembered as the socialite turned farm wife on TV's "Green Acres". Her 30 page file pertains primarily to her Trust (no will was probated), and the problems that developed within the trustees, demands for accountings, citations to appear, etc. Death certificate also included.
GRETA GARBO   $15.00
Another challenge by a long-time customer led us to this mysterious screen star's 10 page will. A lot of publicity was generated over the fact that Garbo left her entire estate to her niece, and it's all here in these fabulous documents, all public record. Also included are a 3 page court order pertaining to one Sven Fredriksson's petition to have the will thrown out of probate.
JUDY GARLAND   $5.00
Easily one of Hollywood's most talented and tragic personalities, Miss Garland left a 4 page will signed Judy Garland Luft, being married to Sid Luft at the time. Lots of bequests, none of which came to pass as her estate was in the red for years. British death certificate included.
JANET GAYNOR   $10.00
Miss Gaynor is another recent addition to our collection. Her 1983 will is 6 pages, to which we add the 2 page Petition for Probate.
LILLIAN GISH   $15.00
The delightful Miss Lillian, whose film career began in the silent era, and lasted well into the 80's. Her 19 page will is loaded with generous bequests, and to this we add a single page evaluation of her estate, Decree Granting Probate and the death certificate.
RUTH GORDON   $10.00
Miss Gordon, outstandingly funny in WHERE'S POPPA, HAROLD AND MAUD, and delightfully spooky in ROSEMARY'S BABY, left a simple three page will. To the will we've added a copy of the death record as well as a two page tax evaluation of her estate.
JOAN HACKETT     $15.00
The Broadway-seasoned actress and former fashion model (once married to Richard Mulligan, whose probate file can be found elsewhere in our catalogues) left a simple 3-page will, with hand-written annotations. This 22-page file also includes several creditors' claims, notices, filings and the death certificate.
JEAN HARLOW   $10.00
One of our favorite finds! 4 page will plus 4 pages of personal property inventory as well as a couple of pages of letters regarding the dispute over her estate, plus a copy of the death certificate. Truly a film buff's collectors item.
HELEN HAYES   $15.00
Hayes, still referred to as the "First Lady of the American Theater," was also a multiple Oscar winner (didn’t you love her in the original AIRPORT?). This 32-page file includes Miss Hayes’ 12-page will, numerous interesting probate documents, a detailed inventory and appraisement of her estate, as well as her death certificate.
SUSAN HAYWARD   $15.00
One of our most extremely interesting finds. From Miss Hayward's sequestered file we present a very demanding 4 page will with a rather nasty single page hand written codicil regarding her sister. We include an additional 13 pages of petitions, orders for probate and claims against the estate, including one by the sister mentioned above. Included in this package is a copy of the death certificate.
EDITH HEAD   $15.00
We were surprised with all the requests we have received over the past several years for costume designer extraordinaire Edith Head's last will & testament, and we are happy to oblige. Miss Head's will is a simple, but detailed 4 page affair with very specific bequests, even for her cats. To this we have added a single page Inventory and Appraisement, a 2 page creditors claim, 5 receipts for bequests bearing the individual signatures of Elizabeth Taylor, Roddy McDowall, Bette Davis, Anne Baxter and Loretta Young. Lastly there are 2 pages of funeral information. A wonderful file.
KATHARINE HEPBURN     $15.00
We were surprised that Miss Hepburn's estate hit probate so quickly, and were even more surprised by her choice of Executors, namely ABC News' Cynthia McFadden. Hepburn's 23 page will is very detailed, and her numerous bequests very generous, to say the least. Also included are a six page codicil (with even more bequests) and the death certificate. Hepburn pal Spencer Tracy's last will and testament can be found elsewhere in our catalogues.
CLAUDIA JENNINGS     $15.00
A Playboy Playmate in November 1969, and 1970 Playmate of the Year, Jennings became the "B" movie queen of the 70's. She died intestate at age 29 after falling asleep at the wheel of her VW convertible. This 28 page probate file includes the Petition and Order For Probate, Letters of Administration, an inventory of the estate, and several claims against the estate, including one for funeral expense.
MADELINE KAHN     $15.00
God, how we loved this woman, especially as Lili Von Shtupp in BLAZING SADDLES and Elizabeth in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, and how sad to lose such a talent at just 57 years of age. In this new file we provide her 24 page will, the nine page Petition for Probate, and her death certificate. As this is a conformed copy of the will filed with the New York County Surrogate Court, it does not contain Miss Kahn's signature.
HEDY LAMARR     $15.00
The Austrian-born beauty caught the world's attention in the 1932 Czechoslovakian production of EXTASE (ECSTASY). With her engineering and math background, she also co-developed a radio jamming technology during WWII that was patented in the US. Her 11 page will is highly detailed, to which we add an additional 20 pages, including the Petition for Administration, several Waivers and Consents, and her death certificate.
DOROTHY LAMOUR   $15.00
Best remembered for playing the love interest in the Hope-Crosby "Road to ..." movies - a strange combination of adventure, slapstick, ad libs and Hollywood inside jokes which helped make her very popular and very wealthy. This 25 page file contains her 9 page will, 13 fascinating pages of Inventory and Appraisement of her estate, and lastly, 4 pages of funeral information.
ELSA LANCHESTER   $10.00
The wonderful Miss Lanchester, the long-suffering wife of actor Charles Laughton, died in conservatorship, so there is no will. What we present are Petitions for and Objections to the Appointment of a Conservator, all outlining Miss Lanchester's physical condition and the condition of her estate. Another customer request.
CAROLE LANDIS   $15.00
Landis, The 'Ping' Girl, had a so-so film career until the early 40's when she suddenly became a big name in the "B" movies. Unfortunately, by the mid 40's, her career had gone into a stall and with the mounting pressures of a failing divorce and no studio contract, she took her own life with an overdose of seconal. This 22 page file contains Landis' 8 page will, a detailed Inventory & Appraisement of her estate, plus a claim for funeral expense and more.
HOPE LANGE   $15.00
Probably best remembered for her starring role in TV's THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR, Lange also co-starred with Marilyn Monroe in BUS STOP, Monroe letting it be know that a younger blonde on the set did not sit well with her. Lange’s 21-page Trust document reads more like a last will and testament, containing her funeral instructions (she did not want one) and detailed bequests to family, friends and employees.
JOI LANSING   $10.00
The gorgeous "B" movie actress and singer (remember Bob Cumming's girlfriend in TV's LOVE THAT BOB?) left a simple 4 page will, to which we add the claim for funeral expense, the Inventory and Appraisement of her estate, the distribution of the estate and the death certificate.
VIVIEN LEIGH   $5.00
Forever etched into our memories as the beautiful and calculating Scarlett O'Hara in GONE WITH THE WIND, and once married to Laurence Olivier, Miss Leigh left a simple 2 page will which was filed with the British Probate Registry. To this we add the Order for Probate as well as her British death certificate.
GYPSY ROSE LEE   $10.00
3 page will plus witness, Letters of Testamentary, as well as a fascinating 3 page personal inventory. Death certificate included.
MARGARET LINDSAY   $10.00
The state, screen and television character actress left a detailed 6 page will, to which we add the 2 page Inventory and Appraisement plus the 3 page Petition for Probate. Another customer request.
CAROLE LOMBARD   $15.00
We've been looking for the balance of this Probate file for quite some time. A simple two page will, Letters Testamentary, 2 Inventory and Appraisements (very detailed), Order Fixing Inheritance Tax, the Final Accounting and a couple of claims against the estate (one by Myron Selznick). Thirty four pages total, with plenty of Clark Gable's signatures. This is a great expanded file, and gives plenty of insight into Miss Lombard's life and tragic death . (See CLARK GABLE for an interesting claim regarding the plane crash that claimed Miss Lombard's life.)
MYRNA LOY   $15.00
The irrepressible Nora Charles to William Powell's (found elsewhere in this catalogue) Nick Charles in THE THIN MAN series of murder mysteries. Miss Loy left a 13 page will (loaded with specific bequests), a single page codicil, to which we add the Citation to Show Cause, a 2 page Affidavit by the attorney who drafted the will, the 3 page Notice of Probate and an interesting "Affidavit of Kinship" by a first cousin once-removed, looking for a portion of the estate. Death certificate also included.
IDA LUPINO   $15.00
Miss Lupino was a fine actress in her day, and one of the first women to break into the male-dominated field of film direction. This new file (a customer request) includes her generous 5 page will, a detailed 15-page accounting of her estate, 12 pages of claims for medical expense, and a copy of the death certificate.
