| So, Who Are You Guys, Anyway?
Originally started as a film buff's private hoard, others like yourself soon became aware of this collection and requested copies of their own. The collection of documents contained in this web catalogue consist of true copies of more than 650 notables' Last Will & Testament, probate files, autopsies and divorce files. These famous names include film makers, authors, politicians, artists, musicians, and the just plain famous. The majority of our documents are pulled directly from court files from within the United States and abroad. We have also done private research for years, on behalf of writers, biographers, the media and other researchers. And Who Uses The Celebrity Archive? We have provided documents (probate, divorce and autopsy reports) to researchers for many media outlets, such as E! Entertainment Television, CourtTV, CBS, ABC, NBC, the BBC, Entertainment Tonight, The Globe, The National Inquirer, among many others... There Are Plenty Of Celebrity Will Sites On The Web These Days...What Makes Yours different? Unlike other sites that offer cheap "text-only" documents (often merely linked to or copied from another site), our documents are painstakingly researched and are pulled directly from court files. In many cases, copies of additional interesting materials (petitions, claims, death certificates, etc.) will be included, as noted. We guarantee you that our service is virtually like no other, and is used by other researchers, as well as writers, biographers, fans, and the just plain curious; we have the largest catalogue of wills and related documents that we know of, and our copies are crisp and clear. Each and every document we offer is bound into a legal "blue-back" (click here to see an example) to give it a wholly authentic look, as well as to preserve it. In addition to probate files, we are now also offering high-profile divorce files and autopsy reports. What About The Wills I See On Auction Sites, Like eBay and Amazon.com? And just where do you think these "entrepreneurs" got the originals for the copies they are selling you? That's right, from US. We seem to have created a cottage industry for these folks who will sell anything on these auction sites. But think about this before you consider buying from one of these clowns: we support our ongoing research with the money we bring in from selling quality copies of the documents that we unearth. Buying copies of our documents from them (even at reduced prices) only helps them, and certainly does nothing to further our research. We have even gone as far as to bid on and purchase a few of our documents from these people, and found (to no one's surprise) that the copy quality is lousy (often even two-sided, saving them a few cents...but who's ever seen a two-sided will?) and that they are not bound in blue-backs like the majority of our documents. It gets better...some of these documents aren't even documents at all, but scanned images (usually bit-mapped GIF images) supplied to you on a floppy disk. Such a deal. Bottom line: buy from us and everybody wins (except them, of course..). Buy from them, and next time you have a great idea for a name to be added to our catalogues, there may not be a Celebrity Archive to help you out. In this instance, a "true copy" is one which is xerographically duplicated from the original, or in turn, duplicated from that true copy. All of our documents, with the few exceptions as noted, are produced in this manner. Our documents show all the details (signatures of the individual, filed dates, judge's notes on the case, etc.) of the original on file with the courts. Are These Documents Legal To Obtain? We maintain that they are. All of the documents that we offer are of public record, and are obtained from the courts or government agency that offer them as such. We spell all of this out in our disclaimer, check it out... Do You Offer Secure Transactions? Any order you place with Celebrity Collectables is made through a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection. Our secure server software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. If you desire to use the mail, you can simply print out an order form and send it to us. We accept money orders, checks, VISA and Master Card, but cannot accept American Express at present. Can I Request That Documents Be Added To Your Catalogue? You bet...we love a challenge, and receive hundreds of them each year. While we can't promise that we'll turn something upon the famous name that you suggest, we'll do our very best. There have been files that have taken us literally years to unearth (just look at Rudolph Valentino), so bear with us... Go to our recommendations and request page to give us your input. Why Do You Spell Your Name "Collectables" and not "Collectibles"? Probably our most frequent frequently asked question. Okay...gather 'round, and we'll say this just one more time: Any dictionary worth a British Pound Sterling will tell you that it can be spelled both ways, and still mean the same thing. We prefer Collectables. I Can't Find You In The Greater Metropolitan Phoenix Phone Book...What Gives? We used to have a listed phone number. We
cannot tell you how many phone calls we got with one question or another
tied to them. We spent so much time answering questions (some good, some
really insipid) that we weren't getting any work done, and it
really became a problem. We changed our number, asked that it be unlisted.
This is why we have this fine on-line catalogue, and many fine on-line forms
that you can send us with your myriad of fine questions. If you really want
